70 custom-made troughs installed on storage cabinets were not watertight.
The previous supplier had installed ill-fitting fibreglass liners, which looked cheap and clashed with the prestige of the building.
Limited plant diversity: Only three plant species had been used, resulting in a bland and uninspiring aesthetic.

Watertight Retrofit
- Sourced plastic liners that fit perfectly inside the custom troughs, making them completely watertight.
Sub-Irrigation System
- Installed a mulch plate over the liners, incorporating wicking systems for passive sub-irrigation, ensuring efficient and consistent moisture delivery to plant roots.
Biophilic Planting Scheme
- Replaced the minimal selection with a diverse mix of 12 plant varieties.
- Plants were carefully selected for contrasting colours, textures, and growth patterns, creating a vibrant, outdoor garden feel—aligned with biophilic design principles.
Preserved Moss Finish
- Finished each installation with a layer of preserved moss, adding texture, depth, and additional greenery to the spaces.
